8.1 Getting started

1. To ensure that the preferences and default settings of your InDesign program match those used in this lesson, move the InDesign Defaults file to a different folder.
2. Start InDesign CS4. To ensure that the panels and menu commands match those used in this lesson, choose Window > Workspace > [Advanced], and then choose Window > Workspace > Reset Advanced.

3. Choose File > Open, and open the 08_Start.indd file in the Lesson_08 folder.
A Profile or Policy Mismatch panel popped out saying "The RGB settings in this document are different than your current application color settings. How do you want to proceed? ...."
4. If a message indicates missing or modified links to graphic files, click Don't Update Links.
5. Choose File > Save As, rename the file 08_Working.indd, and save it in the Lesson_08 folder.
6. Open the 08_End.indd file to see what the finished document will look like.
A panel popped out saying "This document contains links to sources that have been modified. You can update the modified links now, or update them later using Links panel." After I had clicked Don't Update Links, another Profile or Policy Mismatch panel popped out.
